    Key Colony Beach is a city in Monroe County, Florida, with a population of more than 800 residents, which peaks to 4,000 in mid-winter. Key Colony Beach is located in the Heart of the Florida Keys at mile marker 53.5 on US Highway 1.  which is known locally as the Overseas Highway. The city, called the “Gem of the Florida Keys,” is a on an island just south of the Overseas Highway connected via a causeway with a very small bridge.
